Early Builders Privacy Policy

V4 DevLabs ("V4 DevLabs", "we", "us") runs the Early Builders mobile app (the "App"). This policy explains what personal information we collect, why, who can see it, how long we keep it, and the choices you have. It applies to students, teachers and admins who use the App.

We follow the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 of India and other laws that apply to us.

What we collect

Information you give us

Account details: your name, email address, phone number and password. Your password is handled by our sign-in provider, Google Firebase Authentication. We cannot read it.
A profile photo, if you choose to add one.
Your work in the App: task updates, status, blockers and comments; private notes you write on lessons; assignment links and files you hand in; cards you add to your batch's project board.
For teachers: professional details recorded by an admin, such as title, skills, years of experience, previous job, qualification, a short bio and a LinkedIn link.

Information created while you use the App

Your membership status and the dates your access runs between.
Payment records entered by our team: the month paid for, amount and reference. Fees are paid outside the App. We do not collect card, bank or UPI details in the App.
Learning activity: which lessons you watched and where you stopped, attendance for live classes, and the batch you belong to.
Your recent searches inside the App, kept on your phone only.
Basic technical data that our service providers handle to run the App securely, such as your account ID and the time of requests.

What we do not collect

We do not collect your location, contacts, microphone or advertising identifiers. The App has no ads and no third-party advertising or analytics tools. The camera and photo library are used only if you choose to add a profile photo or a file to hand in.

Why we use it

To create and run your account and keep it secure.
To run the programme: show lessons, assign and review tasks, record attendance, and show progress to you and your teachers.
To contact you about your membership, renewals and the programme.
To keep accurate records of membership and payments.
To keep the App safe, prevent misuse and fix problems.
To meet our legal duties.

What we do not do

We use your information only for these purposes. We do not sell it and we do not use it for advertising.

Who can see your information

You can see your own information.
Your teachers can see the students in the batches assigned to them, including name, email, phone, progress, tasks and hand-ins. They cannot see other batches.
Admins can see account, membership and payment information so they can run the programme.
Students cannot see each other's phone numbers or email addresses. Your name and the cards you add may be shown to others in your batch on the project board.
Your private lesson notes are visible only to you.
A teacher's professional profile is visible to the teacher and to admins.

Children

The App is meant for adults. A person under 18 may use it only with the consent of a parent or legal guardian, who has arranged the place in the programme with our team. If you believe a child has joined without that consent, contact us and we will delete the account.

How long we keep it

We keep your information while your account exists. If your access lapses, your tasks, notes and history are kept so you can continue where you stopped when you renew.
Students can delete their own account at any time in the App (Profile, then Delete account). This removes your profile, name, email, phone number and photo, your private notes and lesson progress, your tasks and their files, your assignment hand-ins and their files, your attendance records and your sign-in account. It happens straight away. Students who are still waiting for approval, or whose access has ended, can do the same from the waiting screen.
Teachers and admins have their accounts removed by an admin. To ask for this, or for any deletion you cannot do in the App, email v4devlabs@gmail.com. We aim to act within 30 days.
When an account is deleted we keep payment records (the month paid for, amount and reference) for as long as the law or our accounts require. They are kept only for that purpose.
Cards and documents you added to your batch's project board stay for the rest of the batch. Your name on them is replaced with "Former student".
Backups are overwritten on a regular cycle.

Security

We protect your information with encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS), role-based access so people see only what they need, and secure services from Google. No system is perfectly secure. Please choose a strong password and keep it private. If we learn of a data breach that affects you, we will tell you and the authorities as the law requires.

Your rights and choices

You can:

see and correct your name, phone number and photo in the App (Profile, then Edit profile);
ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you;
ask us to correct information that is wrong or out of date;
delete your account and information yourself in the App (students), or ask us to do it;
withdraw consent you gave us, or nominate someone to exercise your rights on your behalf, as the law allows;
complain to us and, if we do not resolve it, to the Data Protection Board of India.

How to use these rights

To use any of these, email v4devlabs@gmail.com from the address on your account. We may need to confirm it is you. We will reply within a reasonable time, and within any time the law sets.

Withdrawing consent or deleting your account means we can no longer give you access to the programme.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy. When we make an important change we will tell you in the App or by email. The date at the top shows when it was last changed.
